Lauren E. Smith, MPA, PA-C, ATC, completed a Bachelor of Science degree in
Athletic Training at Arkansas State University (ASU) in May 2007. She earned
her Master of Physician Assistant degree in September 2010 with
Loma Linda University in Southern Californina. She is a Board Certified
Physician Assistant and Certified Athletic Trainer. Lauren completed a one year Post-Graduate Physician Assistant Orthopaedic Residency with Illinois Bone & Joint Institute at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center.

In the residency, Lauren gained extensive orthopaedic experience working alongside twelve fellowship trained surgeons with sub-specialites consisting of trauma, total joint replacement, spine surgery, hand surgery, foot & ankle surgery, pediatric orthopaedic surgery, and sports medicine. Lauren previously gained valuable sports medicine experience at ASU while devoting 2002-2007 to the Athletic Department where she was responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries in college athletics.

Outside of M&M, she enjoys staying physically active and participating in outdoor
activities, especially running races for support of a greater cause.

Lauren holds privileges at Good Samaritan Hospital, Hinsdale Hospital, Edward Hospital, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Rush Copley Medical Center, Naperville Surgical Centre, Midwest Center For Day Surgery, Salt Creek Surgery Center, The Center For Surgery, and Elmhurst Outpatient Surgery Center. Currently, she works alongside our physicians in the Lemont and Downers Grove locations.
